GSSC is privately owned and locally operated, seeking an experienced Electronic Security Technician II based out of Minneapolis to join our growing team! The Electronic Security Technician has responsibilities to include, but are not limited to, performing installation, startup and closeout of all jobs, assisting System Engineers in design, and other tasks as assigned by Project Managers.

Summary:
Reporting to the EPG Operations Manager, the Electronic Security Technician II is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems, and communicating system performance to the customer. The Electronic Security Technician II serves as a role model to the organization in professionalism, learning mindset, conduct, personal effectiveness, strategic thinking, following the GSSC Core Values, and emulating a strong corporate culture that respects all people.
Job Responsibilities:

Installs and pulls wire as per specifications
Installs, mounts and wires equipment used in systems
Programming of systems
Tests all equipment after termination is made to ensure performance of system
Verifies signals, tests systems, and troubleshoots
Educates and trains customer on system operation and functionality
Communicates daily with Project Manager on delays, requirements, and general status of jobs
Ensures all jobs are executed within each phase’s estimate.
Collaborates with Sales, Systems Engineer, and Project Managers on change orders, compliant startup, and complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the Client
Manages individual truck stock inventory, materials, tools, and company equipment
Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Redlines prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for as-builts
Complies fully with the safety programs of GSSC and the Client
Handles on-call duties on a regular basis with additional pay
Performs system preventative maintenance of customer equipment
Positively represents GSSC to customers with consistent professionalism
Leading of projects by self or with a team
All other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications include the following:
Hold a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
Associate degree required or 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read Blueprints and Diagrams
Ability to establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective listener, problem solver and leader.
Ability to complete ladder work, operate scissor and boom lifts, move boxes, and lift, up to 50lbs.
Flexible, adaptable and a proven ability to manage change in a growth-oriented environment.
Ability to be on the On-Call rotation throughout the year including a minimum of one holiday per year, one week at a time (number of weeks within a year are dependent on the number of individuals in the rotation) (being on the On-Call schedule could happen within 3 months of employment)

Pass a background check
Power Limited Technician (PLT) Required (personal license)
20+ years of experience
Maintenance or required continuing education classes to keep PLT
Preferred qualifications include the following:
BICSI certification
NICET certification
Computer/Networking Experience
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required.
Moderate noise level in the work environment.
Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
Travel
Some out of town travel required
