Position Description:
Partner with and provide guidance to site management regarding all aspects of employee relations, including but not limited to pay and performance, employee development and training, discipline, hiring and terminations.
Ensure all compliance training is conducted on a timely basis.
Work with management and supervisors to identify staffing needs, job specifications, duties, qualifications, and skills.
Responsible for activities related to staffing including identification of candidates, interviewing, hiring decisions, and on-boarding of new employees.
Oversee and ensure compliance with annual employee performance review process.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulated employment practices.
Internal consultant for managers and employees regarding all aspects of employee and labor relations including but not limited to development and training, discipline, and terminations.
Actively participate on projects with other members of the HR team, both at the BU and division level.
Provide assistance for employees with regard to health benefits, pension and 401(k) questions.
Update and maintain employee records.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university.
Three to five years’ related experience.
Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
An understanding of all human resources related functions/areas: recruiting, employee relations, training and development, benefits, FMLA, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, salary administration and payroll.
Strong judgment and decision-making ability. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management and employees.
Effective interpersonal, investigative and mediation skills.
Good prioritization and organization skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the implications of employment practices, and federal and state laws.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel domestically 10%.
