PRODUCTION CONTROL MANAGER

The Production Control Manager supervises, establishes, and coordinates the production schedules in the factory. Ensures the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between or within departments. Will contribute to the positive work environment and the culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to automate / streamline the workload as well as ensure production is scheduled to produce the right product. This position will lead the implementation of schedule specific metrics to ensure the right parts are available for the customer at the right time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
Identify opportunities for automation of data entry and implement those opportunities where possible.
Release and distribute work orders to Production created by scheduling assistants.
Approve recommendations for “scrap lists” to relieve inventory of obsolete material.
Approve Special Orders for distribution.
Analyze stock shortages and direct needed inventory adjustments.
Establish effective dates for Engineering Changes (ECO) with cross functional teams.
Develop pertinent key performance indicator reports for operations improvements.
Lead scheduling team in creation and management of production schedule.
Maintain records when there are deviations or things out of the norm.
Support physical inventory with establishing the training program and providing training. Monitor the process and provide assistance as needed and perform the inventory comparisons required in order to close out the inventory.
Working cross-functionally with all other departments and other business units to create the best schedule for the organization.
Must be able to lead and direct a team of 3-4.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Business or equivalent degree or 10 years scheduling experience.
APICS certification preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Exceptional MRP / INFOR XA skills.
Expert Microsoft Excel knowledge.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Exceptional English skills required.
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Excellent Mathematical skills and attention to detail is essential to success in this role.
REASONING ABILITIES
Excellent reasoning and logic skills required.
Must be able to get to a sound decision with partial data.
