QUANTEM AVIATION IS HIRING A SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE AT THE PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PDX)!
PAY: $22/ HR. | TYPE: Part-Time | Shift: PM
The Site/Station Safety Representative (safety rep) is a critical function that assists local management and employees in meeting their environmental health and safety (EHS) obligations and who’s leadership supports the site’s safety culture. In performing this function, the safety rep works under the direction of the site’s General Manager or Operations Manager (GM/OM), and is guided and supported by the EHS Division and fellow safety reps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Where applicable to the site, the safety rep can be tasked with any combination of the following duties. It is not intended that a safety rep necessarily be involved all of these examples. For sites with a safety committee, many of these duties are ideally performed in cooperation with the committee
• Monthly EHS workplace inspections
• Job hazard analysis and/or risk assessments
• Maintenance of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) library and site hazardous materials inventory
• Accident/incident/concern investigations (including completion of investigation report)
• Work refusal investigations
• Safety orientation and training of new-hires, returning employees, and contractors (if qualified to train by the corporate training department)
• Development of local processes and procedures to enhance safety and reduce risk
• Assisting EHS Division when conducting audits and investigations
• Assisting staff complete and submit EHS Occurrence reports
• Development of corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years or older
High School Diploma or GED required
Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license
Must pass all required pre-employment drug screening, background and clearance requirements, and successful completion of required badging process
5-year U.S. residency required for Postal clearance
Ability to communicate in English
Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds in a safe manner
Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and carry heavy items up / down jetway stairs
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
**Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future.
