Hours: (FT) Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, schedule varies based on the need of the program.
Hiring Range: $15.45-$15.97/hr

Position Overview:
Lifeworks is seeking a full-time Service Specialist to work with adults with developmental disabilities in our center located in Apple Valley, in the surrounding community and virtually. This position will provide support to individuals through focused activities that challenge and enrich the long-range goals of the individuals served.

Responsibilities:
• Develop, organize, and lead group activities/classes in the center, community or virtually through Zoom.
• Teach a variety of skills including basic literacy, healthy living and life skills to individuals in a classroom or one-on-one.
• Transport individuals out into the community for volunteering and other outings using a company vehicle.
• Develop and maintain person-centered plans for individuals served in program.
• Support individuals in completing goals and documenting their progress.
• Acts as a positive role model for participants in all aspects of professional performance.
• Observes safety procedures and personnel policies and ensures compliance by participants.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to shift attention between activities quickly.
• Effective time management skills.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
• Good customer service skills; good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment.

Qualifications:
• One year of relevant work experience; High school diploma required, two-year degree in a related field preferred or combination of education and experience to equal one year.
• Experience supporting people with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
• Adaptability; good customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills.
• Candidate must complete and pass a background study; physical and drug screen; have a valid driver’s license free of violation; proof of insurance; and access to reliable transportation for work driving purposes.
