The Family Stabilization Program (FSP) Clinical Caseworker is responsible for providing service coordination to children and families in crisis, continued follow-through and supervision beyond the crisis stage in helping families cope with their immediate problems and in finding longer-term solutions. He/She is responsible for providing outreach family counseling to clients assigned through Community Based Services, utilizing a variety of treatment interventions and working as a team with the Caseworkers, when clinically indicated.
Right now due to ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) funds this position has the potential to make up to an additional $9,000 annually in stipends on top of their normal salaries.
$2250 at 90 days + $2250 at 6 months
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide guidance and case coordination of all open cases
Utilize home-based strength model to provide a wide range of assistance and resources to families in the process of reunification or to avoid separation
Treat psychological and emotional issues that affect parenting
Implement treatment modalities that address chronic and pathological issues that impact family functioning
Provide community and home based therapy to secure a safe and independent level of functioning
Contact the family in crisis as soon as possible following the reported crisis, and conduct an initial clinical assessment of the situation
Develop, implement and monitor an ongoing case plan for each family served; coordinate all service components both within the agency and in the community
Work with each family to recognize and sustain gains that have been made
Make referrals to other service providers when necessary
Schedule and coordinate case conferences and meetings with service providers
Support family reunification.
Coordinate services with schools, police, health care provider, court systems, and other service providers.
Broaden parents’ knowledge of developmental stages appropriate for their children
Maintain positive and productive relationships within the agency and with outside individuals and agencies
Handle day-to-day community relations regarding the interactions of the program and its clients in the community
Ensures all clients receive goal-oriented assessments and treatment/service plans within established time frames.
Ensures client intake and termination dates and demographic information is communicated for the timely completion of billing
May occasionally need to transport clients in personal vehicle
Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field of study required
Licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, etc), preferred. License eligible, considered
Experience with child and adolescent development, abuse and crisis intervention
Requires a valid driver’s license, CANTS, BCI and fingerprinting background checks
Maintain flexibility in scheduling due to the nature of the workflow and level of responsibility – some evenings and weekends may be required
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, and the ability to apply this to writing letters, treatment plans, etc
Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, including documentation, meeting with clients for the required hours each week, attending staff meetings and supervision, and other tasks as assigned
