We are currently seeking a Food Receiver in Austin, Texas to support our amazing client's culinary operations. It just so happens to be the largest social media company in the world. This position is located in the downtown area of Austin.
The Food Receiver will accurately check, inspect and move all foods, beverages, supplies, and equipment delivered to the receiving areas per established department receiving guidelines. It is essential that the moving of goods to appropriate storage areas be done in a safe, orderly, and timely manner.
Essential Job Functions
Ensures all truck deliveries are unloaded
Performs quality control, reports damages and shortages and manages returns for incorrect product deliveries
Scans and ensures recording of all delivery invoices
Communicates all discrepancies to the managers, chefs, purchasing team, and delivery drivers or others involved in receipt of a shipment
Prepares and transports goods to food production and service areas as requisitioned and may stock shelves and service refrigerators and freezers as needed
Works along side procurement team to verify, count and match codes on invoices
Rotates stock using FIFO guidelines and maintains all storage areas including refrigerators and freezers in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner
Keeps all receiving areas, storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers organized and sanitary
Conducts and maintains inventory lists on a weekly basis
Maintains an accurate log sheet of temperatures, shortages, spoilage, and inventory counts
Adheres to industry accepted, safe food handling guidelines
Ensures received and stored goods are secure from loss and maintains a safe work area following generally accepted workplace safety rules
Lifts, carries and moves containers and equipment
Heavy and repetitive hand and arm motion, standing, walking, bending/twisting and balance
Stands for a minimum of 8 hours a day
Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility and an essential function of each employee at GM Culinary
Non-Essential Job Functions
Completes general cleaning duties such as floor care, and minor equipment maintenance as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Interpersonal and organizational skills

Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Stand and work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours a day
Lift, push and/or move a minimum of 50lbs
Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods of time with varying temperatures
Detect workplace hazards, navigate work areas, follow written directions, and safely operate equipment
Basic math skills including food service weights and measures and be able to read and understand receiving lists, packaging labels and vendor invoices
Obtain and maintain an active Food Handlers Certification for the duration of employment
1 plus year experience receiving and storing goods or handling food service supplies in a high-volume operation preferred
Prior experience with PC data entry is preferred
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred
