Receiving Clerk

The Receiving Clerk will work to improve the organization, coordination and control of inventory through receipt, transfer, storage, and shipment of product, materials, equipment and other items to and from the warehouse or storage area. This person will keep timely and accurate records to ensure that receipts, transfers and shipments are distributed accurately, efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain diligent attention to detail while processing incoming material to ensure material number, description, and quantity is in line with existing documentation
· Notify supervisor and appropriate departments of discrepancies or nonconformities
· Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
· Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence
· Load, unload, sort and place materials or items onto or from pallets, skids, lifting device, trays, racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence
· Transfer materials and items from trailer to dock area or other designated area by hand, hand truck, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack or forklift
· Pick components from shelves, place onto pallet and load materials into vehicle or onto trailer
· Operate forklift in a safe and professional manner
· Conduct Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections of forklift
· Follow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines and company rules and regulations
· Empty garbage dumpsters, lift trash cans into dumpsters and dispose of recyclables
· Assist in the delivery of products to customers on time, while providing exceptional customer service
· Assist other Warehouse Workers in completing tasks as requested Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· Forklift Operator Certification
· Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods; prior forklift operator experience in a warehouse environment
· Ability to operate a fork-truck in a safe and efficient manner; understanding of safety requirements for lifting and equipment maintenance
· Able to work in a team environment, take direction and work with minimal supervision
· Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
· Ability to manage priorities and workflow
· Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadline
· Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
· Acute attention to detail
· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Firm commitment to excellence and high standards
Strong understanding of how to create highly satisfied customer
Broad level of safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
· Must be able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation (occasionally 60-75 lbs.); able to regularly bend, twist, and climb on and off the forklift
Experience with RF scanning equipment and SAP preferred
