BASIC FUNCTION
Primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of assigned residential sites housing adults diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
SCOPE
Hire, train, and manage all direct service staff employed at assigned residential sites. Advocate for the rights of individuals served through quality development and implementation of individualized, community-integrated service plans. Ensure quality and consistency of operations on a daily basis in compliance with all regulatory standards.
JOB DUTIES
Managing direct support staff:
Interviewing and hiring for open positions;
Engaging in on the job training and onboarding of new hires and ensuring compliance with mandatory trainings;
Conducting annual staff evaluations and setting goals for improvement and development;
Ensuring policies and procedures are being followed in accordance with the Glenkirk Handbook and the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement;
Managing daily schedules and coordinating shift coverage.
Case manager/QIDP duties:
Coordinating the development and delivery of quality Implementation Strategies (ISs) for all assigned individuals;
Monitoring the health and well-being of individuals served through attending medical appointments and/or medical emergencies, as needed, and acting as the primary liaison between medical facilities and Glenkirk;
Maintaining an up to date case file on each assigned individual through ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards (i.e. DHS Rule 115/116, QA, DOL, BALC, IDPH), as well as internal QA processes, Case Record Reviews, Glenkirk Policies and Procedures, Outcome Measurement, Behavior Management, Human Rights, and Safety.
Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned residences:
On-call responsibilities during the work week; rotating on-call schedule during the weekends;
Submitting maintenance work orders for the home and assigned vehicles as needed;
Ensuring program safety through running drills, completing reports, maintaining stock of First Aid kits, completing temperature logs, assuring proper storage for hazardous chemicals, etc.
Maintaining stock and inventory of household necessities through submitting monthly supply orders, trust fund requests, weekly grocery orders, etc.;
Managing program petty cash funds, Link cards, and grocery store cards. Maintaining accurate ledgers of all expenditures with corresponding receipts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
B.A. in human services or a related field, required.
One year of experience serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, preferred.
Valid Illinois Driver's license
