Our team is currently looking for an experienced Forklift Technician to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service. This is a fabulous opportunity for a knowledgeable, hardworking technician to apply his or her skills in our production facility located in Northeast Philadelphia.
In this role, the successful candidate will maintain serviceability by completing preventative maintenance requirements and repairs including hydraulic systems and electrical systems.. Responsibilities:
Maintain electrically powered floor jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, and golf carts.
Repairs and upgrades forklift trucks and pallet jacks by listening to operators description of malfunction; conducting tests, identifying problem and resolution.
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Maintains vehicle maintenance and operational history by initiating and updating records.
Maintains safe work environment by verifying vehicle safety device operation; following standards and procedures; complying with industry standards
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment.
Minimum Requirements
Prefer experience with Crown/Raymond equipment (but are open to experience with other brands as well), forklift electrical systems, mechanic and hydraulic systems.
Experience in maintaining propane powered forklifts and battery chargers a plus, but not mandatory.
Strong electrical background in current (DC) voltages
Must have knowledge of mechanical systems including drive units, internal combustion engines, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, steering systems.
Must have the ability to read and understand electrical schematics and problem solving skills required.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting: parts and tools rarely up to 75lbs floor to waist, occasionally 50lbs up to overhead.
Standing: could require constantly standing throughout work shift while performing repairs.
Stooping: while completing repair for lower level parts of machine.
Reaching: frequently all levels within arm’s length.
Squatting: to pick up parts/tools from floor.
Pushing/pulling: up to 100lbs force for parts and tools.
Grasping/gripping: up to 90lbs for tool use.
Climbing on and off equipment, ladders occasionally.
Vision: seeing colors, equipment, judging distances, computer screens and/or paperwork.
Hearing: equipment movement and horns, verbal instructions, alarms and intercom system.
Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position.
