CT Teacher Residency Program Developer (Math) Job Description - Part time
General Purpose
The CT Teacher Residency Program (CREC TRP) is an alternate route to certification program focused on diversifying the teaching staff across Connecticut within a residency model. Under the direction of the Managing Director, the TRP Program Developer is responsible for developing, reviewing and revising program components for a potential CT Teacher Residency Mathematics Education Program.
Essential Duties
Attend collaborative meetings with program personnel and specialists
Conduct a needs assessment, researching best practices and determining the direction of the certification pathway
Provide updates, guidance and suggestions to program leadership
Assist in program development using current research, best practices and alignment to CAEP and other relevant standards
Develop programming with an equity focus that aligns with the mission and approach of the CT TRP including using anti-racist, social justice, and equity lenses
Apply adult learning principles and best practices
Qualifications
Masters Degree required
Experience working with K-12 Mathematics programs required
Experience teaching and making programmatic decision at the University/College level preferred
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of and demonstrated practice of cultural competency and culturally responsive pedagogy
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Comprehensive understanding of K-12 mathematics programming
Understanding of CAEP Accreditation
Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs of studies
Ability to set goals and monitor programs and projects toward achievement
Competence in working collaboratively with a variety of teams
Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
