The Enterprise Storage Group and OWC is focused on providing high speed, reliable, enterprise storage systems such as Jellyfish and Jupiter to a broad range of high-level clients. It is the Tier 3 Support Engineer whose main task is to provide high level assistance in implementing, maintaining, and reviewing customer issues and support requests. Tier 3 support engineers are required to provide network, systems administration and storage advice and support to all our clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The essential purpose of this position is to ensure customer success by keeping our customers supported.
Assist the hardware engineering team with R&D projects
Provide feedback to the Hardware and Software engineering team to help improve our products
Provide feedback and perform QA on new versions of software for our systems
Test new hardware components and provide feedback
Assist with the building of custom systems for large clients
Answer both customer and employee phone calls and emails regarding support issues or requests
Monitor the support ticket system
Maintain point of contact for customers
Stay educated on new and updated policies, products, and procedures by reviewing internal training resources
Any other duties that are assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
3+ years of System Administrator experience using Linux.
Knowledge of Linux with a focus on RHEL 7 & 8, including system design, configuration, maintenance (i.e. firewall, sudoers, LDAP, SSL certs), upgrade and administration.
Experience with Active Directory
Experience with ZFS is required
Knowledge of Storage Technology, including design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade / transition planning and execution.
Knowledge of design, implementation, and support of protocols and technologies such Samba, NFS, DNS, and LDAP.
Good understanding of routers, switches and computer network configurations including firewalls.
Strong knowledge of physical server, and desktop hardware.
Good understanding of management practices and related tools such as Puppet, Git, and Docker
Scripting experience such as Bash and Python
Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both public licensed and Commercial-off-the-Shelf software tools
Experience with ticketing system
Understanding of Amazon AWS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED 
3 - 5 years in system administration
Optional: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
