Crescent Cove is looking for skilled and compassionate nurses with pediatric or neonatal experience.
Candidates will embrace the child and their family, celebrate the child’s life and assure the family as their
child stays for respite and/or receiving end-of-life care at our Home. Nurses will facilitate and administer
care, as needed, to Crescent Cove children and their families on a comprehensive level including
medical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:
● Provide and coordinate quality palliative and respite care to children/families, including nursing
services, medication administration, treatments, and preventative procedure
● Assess, plan and evaluate child’s care needs.
● Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, evaluate and update plan of
care for each child/family
● Ensure goals of care for each child continue seamlessly from home or hospital
● Advocate for the needs of the child and family – clinical, pharmacological, spiritual and
psychosocial
● Communicate accurately and concisely using both written and verbal skills
● Develop meaningful relationships with families
● Perform nursing procedures
● Respond to medical emergencies or rapidly change in acuity status
● Supervise nursing assistants and volunteers
● Maintain current clinical knowledge of pediatric palliative care practices through ongoing
education and attendance of in-service training sessions
Registered Nurse Qualifications/Skills:
● Minnesota RN license in good standing required
● A minimum of one year experience in Pediatric or Neonatal Intensive Care or Pediatric Home
Care for medically complex children required
● Current CPR certification for Adult and Pediatrics and BLS for Healthcare workers
● End-of -Life Care experience preferred
● Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of nursing required, or currently enrolled in a BSN
program.
● Credentialed or willing to become credentialed by the National Hospice & Palliative Care Nurses
Association
● Understands child development and unique diagnosis within pediatric healthcare
● Critical thinking skills, decisive clinical judgment and the ability to work autonomously in a busy
and joy-filled environment.
● Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling,
moving, lifting of patients
