Hazardous Waste Disposal Coordinator

The HazWaste Manager is a subject matter expert and team leader focused on management of the daily operations of the Hazardous Waste Program. The HazWaste Manager is responsible for ensuring our Field Operations Team is properly trained in OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations to provide the following services for our customers: waste characterization, packaging, handling, and transportation. The HazWaste Manager ensures safety, attention to detail, profitability and efficiency. This position also supports business development through estimating and quoting and provides hands on supervision and training as needed.
Day in the Life
After checking in with your team, you can expect to:
Monitor and manage the Field Operations Team to ensure a safety-first approach and compliant execution of work
Provide employees and customers with guidance on regulatory interpretations for OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
Provide quotes and estimations to our clients and support both the sales and business development teams
Manage daily production schedules and supply inventories
Manages relationships with waste-receiving facilities.
Performs work at customer sites when necessary.
Performs other, related duties as assigned. These are duties may not be specifically listed in this description, but which are within the general nature typically associated with the employee's level of work.
What you need to apply
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
In addition, expert knowledge and understanding of RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and applicable state regulations, typically gained through 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in waste disposal, chemistry, or a related field.
Valid Driver's License. Hazmat endorsement a plus
Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment and select effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications is essential.
Must be willing and able to travel and work extended hours in order to meet operational demands.
