Summary:
Provide machining support in a classified environment. Independently fabricate machine parts and applications for a wide variety of materials and sizes using blueprint drawings and CAD models on manual lathes, mills and other equipment. Skilled in MasterCam 2019 - thru 2023 CNC machine programming and HAAS UMC-750SS / HAAS UMC-1000SS operation. Multi Axis is a plus!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide machining support for the fabrication of components which range in size from miniature to very large and include common materials as well as materials with hazardous characteristics.
Work from complex drawings, prototype sketches, electronic files and/or verbal instructions to facilitate the manufacturing of parts and assemblies by programming, setting up, and operating manual and multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, WIRE EDM and a variety of general machine shop equipment.
May perform other duties as required.
You Must Have:
Minimum 6 years’ experience programming, setup and operating CNC machinery in a production environment.
Minimum 6 years’ experience reading and interpreting drawings (GD&T), schematics, specifications and CAD files and translating into MasterCam programming and setup for CNC machinery.
Minimum 6 years’ experience in the use of various measuring instruments to include micrometers bore gauges, calipers, comparators, etc.
Associates Degree, 2 years of technical school, OR , 6 plus years of related experience in the machining/metalworking trade through a vocational technical school, military, accredited educational institution or equivalent experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance
We Value:
Experience with production of high precision parts and performing complex setups required to produce the parts; ability to write and troubleshoot machine programs.
Ability to provide labor and material estimates developed from provided drawings, electronic files and blueprints. Uses hand and power tools such as saws, sanders, arbor presses, stretch presses, electrical discharge forming devices, rolls, power shears, press breaks, mechanical tubing and Teflon cable benders, metal spinning lathes, routers, hydraulic and mechanical presses,
Demonstrate superior experience with CAD packages such as MasterCam, Solid Works, and/or Pro E.
Experience working with solid models and 3D surfacing.
