Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Warranty Technician. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. The rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:
The Quality Engineering Technician will support the analysis and solution of quality problems, processing/disposition of non-conforming material, preparation of inspection plans and instructions, and training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable). Lead/support/assist Quality/Warranty Supervisor and Engineer in continuous improvement of Quality process, including performing audits, validation calibration compliance, and creating Quality documents in alignment with Quality Management System/EQS requirements. Ability to read documentation to make complete fact-based decisions & root cause analysis and to research job folders and identify components used in the assembly.
Assist with Field Service Actions as needed. Assist with warranty claim processing.
Critical Outputs:
A. Support coordination of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions
B. Acts as the plant’s expert for deploying Problem-Solving techniques and tools
C. Leads the efforts to address quality issues with customers and suppliers
Essential Functions:
• Support the analysis and solution of quality problems, disposition of non-conforming material, preparation of inspection plans and instructions, and training of inspectors under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors (if applicable). Performs process/product audits in alignment with QMS / EQS requirements.
• Develop and maintain robust quality processes, consistent with Eaton Quality System, ISO, and Eaton Lean practices by creating Standard Work, Work Instructions, Operator Method Sheets, workmanship standards,8D’s and Line Alerts, and training operators for same.
• Create/review/maintain pFMEA’s and control plans.
• Perform FTY/Rework and root cause analysis, plus create corrective/preventive actions as required.
• Act as an ISO Lead Auditor: Conduct quality audits of equipment and processes, coordinate audit schedules, and manage & maintain internal audits & corrective action database.
• Assist with audits with internal or external customers (requirements criteria) to help ensure quality and continuous improvement of products. Product audit development, training others, and backup
• Adhere to Quality Control Plan compliance verification, including Crimp verification and Tooling/Gage calibration compliance for the area assigned.
• Work with the manufacturing area for improvements to lead 8D/error-proof teams and defects analysis. Drive FTY/Rework issues to closure for continual improvement.
Qualifications:
Education and Minimum Experience Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in an engineering or related discipline
- 5-7 years of quality or engineering technician experience in an electrical manufacturing environment
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
- Intermediate understanding of problem-solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools to analyze problems, evaluate, and complete improvement projects.
- Basic knowledge of ISO, Quality Management System, and Six Sigma.
- Intermediate knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance with defined quality requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques
- Intermediate problem-solving skills are essential.
- Training and experience with quality assurance concepts, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, MSAs, Capability Studies, PpFMEAs, Control Plans, ISO 9001, dimensional analysis, auditing, and Supplier Quality Management.
- Experience working with blueprints

A. Possess a sound working knowledge of PC software programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
