Quality Inspector I

General Description:
Performs quality control inspections, checks and tests during the repair and manufacturing of products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming visual and dimensional material inspections
- Assist with packaging and shipping inspections
- Assist with in process and final inspections
- Assist with monthly QA checks to ensure integrity of ESD program and test equipment
- Record data and observations and make recommendations for improving the process
- Notify production and quality management of significant problems
- Assist with inspections on chemicals ensuring an MSDS is maintained on file.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and logs of work completed, status, results, etc. to comply with GTS and ISO 9001 procedures and to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection activities.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years of inspection
Educational Requirements (or equivalent):
- High School Diploma
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a professional production repair or manufacturing environment and typically works 40 hours weekly. May be exposed to hazards from equipment or hazardous materials (chemical). While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and to reach with hands and arms. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment and light lifting less than 30 lbs. While performing duties of this job the employee may be exposed to a warehouse environment and should exercise suitable safety precautions. Requests for reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the job. Some travel may be required.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Communication proficiency; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both a verbal
and written format.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaboration skills; Ability to work in a team environment and interface with members of other departments
- Knowledge of basic technical specifications and terminology
- Ability to read drawings and inspect to a drawing.
- Basic knowledge of a variety of measuring tools
- Must have regular, reliable attendance
